Reply by voice

How recipients reply, where replies go and how you as a site owner respond to widget messages.

Replying as a recipient

Every listening page (if the sender allows it) shows “Reply with a voice message”. One click opens the recorder – in a purple box at the top you see who you are replying to and what happens when you send. Only the “Send reply” button sends the message; nothing happens before that.

The reply goes:

  • for messages from a Speeeak customer → by e-mail to the sender, with voice card;
  • for messages via a recording widget → to the visitor who originally spoke – through your own mail account (provided they entered their e-mail address).

Replying to widget messages as a site owner

In your account under Inbox you find every message visitors have left you through your recording widget – with name, e-mail address and subject, if you have enabled those fields.

  • Reply by voice → you record a reply; the visitor receives it by e-mail with voice card – through your own mail account. Without a mail account you get the listening link with a prefilled “Open e-mail” and send it yourself.
  • Reply by e-mail → opens your mail program with their address.
  • Read / Delete → keep things tidy.

For every new widget message you also receive an e-mail (can be switched off per widget). If you reply directly to that e-mail, your reply goes to the visitor – their address is set as the reply address.

💡 Tip: If the visitor did not enter an e-mail address, you cannot reply. The widget tells them so beforehand (“Without an e-mail address we cannot reply to you”). You can adjust that text per widget – or make the e-mail address required.
